Crofters Rights host a tap takeover and ‘meet the brewer’ with West By Three, a brewery based just outside of Swansea.

From 7pm onwards, you’ll be able to try a selection of West By Three’s beers and have a chat to Hamish and Rich, two friends who founded the brewery in January 2016.

Despite their relatively short existence, West By Three have already brewed over 20 different beers, so expect some interesting things to drink. Here’s how they describe what they’re doing:

Hamish and Rich both grew up in Wales and have been passionate homebrewers for several years. Rich is still in the motherland while Hamish has settled in the USA. The two met at school in Brecon when they were eleven years old and have been friends ever since. Distance has not stopped them from sharing recipes back and forth across the pond.

Their passion for beer and the inspiring new wave UK craft beer scene paired with a firsthand understanding of the formidable US craft brewing movement led them to dream of founding a brewery. An ocean apart, they thought about the beginnings of their long friendship on the 3rd meridian west of Greenwich; here the West By Three Brewing Co. was born in January 2016.

It is imperative that each beer is as authentic as possible. This means no shortcuts or unnecessary additives. This means using the proper equipment and ingredients and taking the time necessary to get each brew exactly right.
